Thrusting staff, facing the challenge of cultural misunderstandings, into a safe yet illuminating cross-cultural communications experience

Target Audience:

Front line staff, supervisors and managers in organizations engaging in international business, serving a diverse clientele at home or peopled by culturally diverse workforce

Content & Methodology:

In this one-day customized workshop participants experience and come to understand the challenges of communicating across cultures as well as how to strategize to address the challenges they will face.

On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the barriers to and the benefits of cross-cultural communication, both personally and professionally.
  • Distinguish and address the value-based differences between their own cultural background and other cultures.
  • Apply appropriate strategies to the delivery of effective two-way communication in a variety of different cultural encounters.

The workshop is designed to achieve these outcomes while providing participants with an illuminating, interesting and motivating professional development experience.

Crossing Cultures™ is based on extensive academic research and international managerial experience. It incorporates proven facilitation strategies and cross cultural communication models.

Course Materials:

Participants receive a customized workbook that includes workshop content and exercises, a comprehensive tool box, cultural profile of up to five different cultural groups. In addition, through a preworkshop, online questionnaire, participants a personalized cultural profile that defines their own value system across six dimensions.
